Gathering together, we welcome a new chapter. 2023 marks the starting year for fully implementing the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China. The Congress made decisions to deepen the implementation of the strategies of rejuvenating the country through science, education, talent, and innovation-driven development. Building a strong country in science and technology has been elevated to an unprecedented level of importance, emphasizing that accelerating the realization of high-level scientific and technological self-reliance is a strategic necessity for achieving Chinese-style modernization. Through tireless efforts, Zhongguancun has achieved numerous innovative successes in 2023. On January 28, the Zhongguancun Science and Technology Entrepreneurs Association and "Zhongguancun" Magazine jointly held the "Zhongguancun Innovation New Year's Reception" at the Zhongguancun Crowne Plaza Hotel. Over 200 elites from various sectors of Zhongguancun's government, business, academia, and industry gathered to celebrate achievements, share wisdom, and usher in the New Year with the spirit of the dragon and horse!

Zhang Yulei, Member of the Party Group and Deputy Director of the Municipal Science and Technology Commission and Zhongguancun Management Committee, interpreted the "Regulations on the Construction of Beijing International Science and Technology Innovation Center" for the attending entrepreneurs and introduced how the Zhongguancun Demonstration Zone supports enterprises' innovative development. She expressed hope that the Zhongguancun Science and Technology Entrepreneurs Association will closely align with national strategic goals and Zhongguancun's positioning, fully leveraging the collective strength of entrepreneurs, promoting outstanding entrepreneurial spirit, and uniting and leading the majority of science and technology entrepreneurs to make new contributions to building the international science and technology innovation center. As the supportive "family" of Zhongguancun technology enterprises, the Municipal Science and Technology Commission and Zhongguancun Management Committee are committed to working hand in hand with technology entrepreneurs to continuously optimize comprehensive policy support and targeted services for technology enterprises throughout their life cycle, helping enterprises grow bigger, stronger, and better, and making new and greater contributions to the construction of the Beijing International Science and Technology Innovation Center and the advancement of Chinese-style modernization.
Shi Zongkai, Vice Chairman of the Tsinghua University Council and former Deputy Secretary of the Tsinghua University Party Committee, cited the positive influence that Tsinghua alumni entrepreneurs have had on Tsinghua students through their contributions to their alma mater, their enduring belief and enthusiasm, and their excellent personal qualities. He encouraged Zhongguancun entrepreneurs to inherit and carry forward the Zhongguancun spirit, using it to inspire and influence entrepreneurs and society nationwide.
The New Year's reception was a warm, joyful, and dazzling occasion. Everyone gathered together to welcome the New Year, discuss development, and the scene was filled with a festive and harmonious holiday atmosphere.
The participating entrepreneurs noted that 2024 marks the 75th anniversary of the founding of New China, a crucial year for achieving the goals and tasks of the 14th Five-Year Plan, and the 10th anniversary of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei coordinated development strategy. They pledged to fully implement the spirit of the 20th CPC National Congress, the Second Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee, the Central Economic Work Conference, and General Secretary Xi Jinping's important speech on Beijing, as well as conscientiously implement the regulations on the construction of the Beijing International Science and Technology Innovation Center. They vowed to stand side by side with Zhongguancun and the Zhongguancun Science and Technology Entrepreneurs Association to make new contributions to Zhongguancun's innovative development and the construction of the Beijing Science and Technology Innovation Center.
To promote deep integration of industry, academia, research, application, and capital, and to foster synergy among innovation, industry, capital, and talent chains, the conference invited representatives from national high-end think tanks, top universities in the capital, and financial institutions.
