The opening ceremony of the 2024 Zhongguancun Forum Annual Meeting was held on April 25 at the Zhongguancun International Innovation Center in Beijing's Haidian District. With the theme "Innovation: Building a Better World", the forum focused on cutting-edge exploration, sharing achievements, and open cooperation. Over 100 countries and regions and more than 150 foreign government departments and international organizations were invited to attend this global event for scientific and technological innovation exchange. Ding Xuexiang, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Vice Premier of the State Council, attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech. Yin Li, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Secretary of the Beijing Municipal Party Committee, participated in related activities. Dr. Shao Genhuo, Chairman of Dabeinong Group, was invited to attend the opening ceremony.
Following the ceremony, Ding Xuexiang toured the permanent exhibition at the Zhongguancun Exhibition Center and interacted with scientists and technologists. Many leading companies such as Xiaomi, JD.com, and TikTok participated in the exhibition. Dabeinong Biotechnology, representing agricultural technology, showcased its biological breeding research achievements in the "Facing Major National Needs" section. The Dabeinong Biotechnology booth was featured as a representative of technology companies in the special report on the Zhongguancun Forum on that day's "Xinwen Lianbo".
Attendees showed great interest in the excellent pest resistance and herbicide tolerance of Dabeinong Biotechnology's FARMAX® series corn and soybean products displayed at the booth.
To date, Dabeinong Biotechnology's corn trait products have received 14 agricultural GMO safety certificates. Its soybean trait products have obtained 3 Argentinian planting licenses, 1 Brazilian planting license, 3 domestic agricultural GMO safety certificates for production and application, and 2 domestic agricultural GMO safety certificates for import. Among the 64 GM corn varieties approved in China, 37 use FARMAX® traits. Of the 17 approved soybean varieties, 6 are high-oil, high-yield varieties independently developed by Dabeinong Biotechnology. These approved varieties were also exhibited at the Zhongguancun permanent exhibition.
